Wiley & Son, 2003. You do not need to buy the textbook.

Grading policy
- Exams: There will be homework assignments, in-class quizzes, three mid-exams and final exam.
- Homework:
After each section is covered in the lecture, you should do all homework (see
the homework
assignments of Math 2433). Selected problems (announced daily at the
course web page) from each homework assignment will be
collected weekly by your TAs and in-class quiz problems shall be chosen from the homework assignments.
- Quizzes: In-class quizzes will be given at regular lectures and recitation classes.
Turn in homework assignments to your TA at your recitation class.
TWO of the lowest scores of the quizzes and homework assignments will be dropped.
- Makeup: NO MAKEUP of any quizzes and exams and no late homework assignments.
- ATTENDANCE: Roll will be taken at random times via giving in-class quiz.
- In-class Test Dates:
- Exam 1: Monday, Sep. 29
- Exam 2: Monday, Oct. 27
- Exam 3: Wednesday, Dec. 3
- Final Exam: 11 am - 2 pm, Monday, Dec. 15, 2008.
- The total of quizzes and homework assignments is worth 100 points, each mid-exam is worth 100 points,
and comprehensive final exam is worth 200 points.
The total score = Quizzes and homework assignments + 2 Best Mid-Exams + Max(the lowest Mid-Exam, Final-Exam/2) +
Final-Exam= 100+200+100+200=600.
Important Notes and Connections
- Do not miss TOO many quizzes and homework assignments. Lower score of quizzes and homework assignments HURTS your course grade.
- If you miss more than one mid-exam or final exam, you will either be dropped by the
instructor or get an ``F'' as the final grade of this course.

You will need to register at CASA, the site explains how. Your registration in the course provides
on-line access to Chapters 12 - 17 and to the answers for the odd-numbered problems in the Exercise Sets.
The online text is in "pdf" format, suitable for printing.

- In each mid-exam and the final exam, you must sit on the assigned seat.
