Markov semigroups of operators and quantum metric spaces

Abstract
P. A. Meyer's Carre du Champ provides an abstract method to
define gradients associated with Markov semigroups. In this talk, I will
explain Meyer's definition of semigroup-gradients and its connection to
producing M. Rieffel's quantumn metric spaces.
