There is a concept of the quotient of operator systems that is quite distinct from the operator space quotient. In these talks we will introduce this quotient, examine a few examples of quotients of matrix spaces and then apply these calculations to give a simplified proof of a theorem of Kirchberg and some (new?) insight into Connes' embedding problem.
