Title: A Weyl-algebraic interpretation of some familiar complex functions and their difference analogues

Speaker: Edmund Y. Chiang, The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology

Abstract: We use trigonometric functions and Bessel functions as examples that there there are D-modules interpretations underneath them. Suddenly one started to better understand where some of the numerous formulae associated with these functions come from. The Weyl-algebraic viewpoint naturally leads to difference analogues of these classical functions.
