2nd Announcement (Dec. 4, 2003)
Subject: 2004 Texas Dynamics workshop @ UH
This is the second notice about the Texas Dynamics workshop that we
plan to organize at University of Houston in Spring 2004.
A web-page has been set up at
http://www.math.uh.edu/~torok/dynamics2004
It will be "enhanced" as more details become clear.
Please advertise this workshop to people in your department, or in
other departments. If you know people who might be interested, we would
appreciate having their name/institution. If there are other people at your
institution who could be interested, please forward this e-mail to them.
==================================================
The tentative date for the workshop is Fr-Sat, March 26-27, 2004.
Unfortunately, this conflicts with the "Spring Topology and Dynamics
Conference", March 25-27, 2004, to be held at Birmingham, Alabama (see
http://www.math.uab.edu/ablokh/stdc04.html).
If this proves a serious conflict (please let us know if you think
so), we can look for an alternative date.
We hope to cover at least one night's accommodation.
The suggested format is as follows:
- start early afternoon of Friday, March 26, and end next
afternoon;
- most talks will be 30 minutes long;
- leave sufficient time for discussions.
==================================================
We would appreciate it very much if you could give us the following
pieces of information (so that we have a rough count):
- Are you likely to attend?
- How many students from your institution would be interested in
coming?
- Would you need accommodation for a second night (because you live
too far from Houston)?
- Would you like to give a talk? If so, could you please give us a
tentative title?
==================================================
Sincerely,
Andrew Torok (@math.uh.edu)
