REU Application


To apply to the Summer 2014 Mathematics REU send an email to Email Address with the subject line "REU Application" and containing the following information.
  1. Your Name.
  2. Email address at which you can be reached.
  3. Your Academic Year (e.g., freshman, sophomore, junior, senior).
  4. Your Expected Graduation Date (semester and year).
  5. Are you a University of Houston Student? (Yes/No) If you are a UH student, please provide your PeopleSoft ID Number.
  6. Your Academic Major(s).
  7. Citizenship. (Are you a citizen or permanent resident of the United States or one of its possessions?)
  8. Minority Status (Optional): Woman, Native American, African-American, Hispanic, Pacific Islander, First-Generation College Student
  9. Provide a list of your preference for research projects A description of the four projects can be found here. Indicate your First Choice, Second Choice, Third Choice, and Fourth Choice of the four research projects.
  10. Please state that, if hired for the REU, you will not have any additional employment or be enrolled in summer courses during the dates of June 2--July 26, 2014. (If you like, you can just copy this sentence, and write "I agree".)
  11. Enclose a copy of your transcripts. (An unofficial copy is fine. PDF format is preferred.)
  12. Provide a half-page "Statement of Intent". (This should be a half-page description of why you are interested in the REU and why you think you are a good choice for the position.)
