Abstract
 

Invisibility has fascinated our imagination for a long time. Many novels and movies have presented a variety of unbelievable applications of invisibility. The recent advances in science and technology regarding the manipulation of electromagnetic fields made invisibility a possible reality in the near future. This talk will offer an elementary introduction to the subject, going from the initial developments to the current status of things. The audience will have the opportunity to see a part of applied science at work on this captivating subject.
