How to Identify Equipment for UH Property Management

seperator

The State of Texas requires that certain property belonging to the University of Houston, and therefore the State of Texas, be tagged for inventory purposes.  This webpage is intended for users to help identify equipment that has been loaned to you for University purposes.  It is only provided as a means of helpful information  For actual Policy and Procedures, please refer to the UH Property Management website.

Most of the equipment that is checked out is laptops.  We support mainly Acer and a few other laptops and our custom built PCs.  Below are some pictures to help identify the manufacturer equipment and the tags used by UH Property Management.

Although all State property should be tagged, we sometimes order, receive and issue equipment before a UH Tag is procured.  This webpage can help users to identify equipment so that it can be properly tagged.

I hope to have more pictures in the future.

This is an Acer laptop with both the manufacturers tag on top and the UH Property Management tag below.

Below is another Acer laptop tag.

As you can see from the pictures, the Model Number and/or Name are listed along with a Serial Number (S/N).  (The Serial numbers are partially covered for security.)

If asked to report on the identity of issued equipment, please record the Serial Number, Model and include the laptop name.  Laptops issued from the Math IT will have a white label with a name starting with Winlap and 2 or 3 digits after it.  (example, Winlap100)
