theorem/proof-type course in analysis at the University of Houston. Its
role is to prepare students for advanced mathematics, especially for all
math courses in analysis numbered 3334 and higher. The goal of the
course is to teach students mathematical reasoning and the construction
of proofs in the environment of
Written Homework: Homework will be collected regularly throughout the semester. Students will submit their homework on paper in class with writing (or typing) on only one side of the page. There should not be any scratch-outs, and all work should be neat and well written. Homework assignments will be posted on the course homepage. Electronic Homework: Students will access multiple choice questions from links on the course homepage at least twice each week. These questions will be answered on CourseWare using the online EMCF (electronic multiple choice form). Exams: Two proctored midterm exams and a comprehensive final exam will be given on the UH campus. The dates and times of the exams will be announced later in the semester. Grades:
