  • The course This course is an introduction to complex analysis. This course is an introduction to complex analysis. It will cover the theory of holomorphic functions, Cauchy theorem and Cauchy integral formula, residue theorem, harmonic and subharmonic functions, and other topics.

  • Blackboard Learn On-line course is taught through Blackboard Learn, visit http://www.uh.edu/webct/ for information on obtaining ID and password. My lecture notes are posted, after each class,
  • Homework Weekly homework. Homework are assigned on each Friday and should be submitted on the next Friday.
  • Exams Two exams, a midterm and a final exam. The mid-term exam is an open-notes-take-home exam for 3 hours. The final exam is one open-notes proctored exam for three hours on December 5, Monday.

    If you are not living in Houston area, you need to contact Mr. Tim Bretzke in the Office of Distance Education (the email address: DEproctoring@uh.edu) . You should do the following.
    • Locate an institution near your location that will be willing to proctor your exams, such as a college, library, or testing center. Be advised that while many institutions offer this service free, others may charge.
    • Provide Mr. Tim Bretzke with the institution’s name and the proctor’s contact information (i.e. name, e-mail, phone number).
    • Schedule your proctoring appointment, and notify Mr. Tim Bretzke about the dates.
    • Your exam and instructions will be sent to your proctor, and returned upon completion by your proctor to Tim Bretzke.
