Dear Students of MATH 2331,

In response to the City of Houston and Harris County emergency health declarations, and to mitigate the spread of COVID-19, the University of Houston will immediately cease all face-to-face instructional activities (i.e. lectures, seminars, discussions or presentations) and deliver all of our classes remotely using online and/or virtual learning platforms, at least until April 4.

In order to ensure a smooth transition to online delivery, the University of Houston has instituted a one-week pause in all instructional activities.  Thus there will be a one-week pause in our class activities during the week of Monday, March 16 through Saturday, March 21.   In particular, there will be neither assignments due nor tests given this week.   The class will resume online on Monday March 23 in its usual timeslot, as well as office hours.  These will be delivered through Blackboard and other online platforms like Courseware/CASA.   The last date to drop classes with a W has been moved till April 10.

An email announcement will be sent to you later this week regarding curriculum and policy changes that will apply during periods of online instruction. This statement will also be posted in Blackboard/CASA by March 20th. You will receive regular updates concerning the precise manner of online instruction, what equipment or apps you will need, how to turn in assignments, etc, as well as other guidance from the University, department, and instructor.

As we work through these extraordinary circumstances, we are committed to provide high quality instruction regardless of the format. I appreciate your willingness to work with me as we navigate this situation together.

Best regards,

David Wagner
