Seminar on Complex Analysis and Complex Geometry - Fall 2025

On Wednesday when no extramural speaker is listed, the members of the complex geometry group may meet for a working seminar. For more information, send an email to Gordon Heier.

Title: Ergodic theory of translation surfaces

Speaker: Anthony Sanchez, UH

Abstract: We give a friendly introduction to the moduli space of translation surfaces and give some sense on how questions about individual translation surfaces can be answered by looking at the dynamics on the space of all translation surfaces. No background on translation surfaces is required.

Title: Derived Categories and Moduli Spaces of Vector Bundles, Part I

Speaker: Haotian Zuo, UH

Abstract: In this talk, I will give an introduction to the moduli space of vector bundles on smooth projective curves and discuss its bounded derived category of coherent sheaves. The aim is to build up the background and motivation for understanding the geometry and categorical structure of these moduli spaces. This talk will serve as preparation for my subsequent presentation on October 17, where results from my Master’s thesis will be presented.

Title: Derived Categories and Moduli Spaces of Vector Bundles, Part II

Speaker: Haotian Zuo, UH

Abstract: In this talk, I will present results from my Master’s thesis written at Tongji University on the bounded derived categories of the moduli spaces of stable vector bundles. In particular, I will describe the structure of the group of auto-equivalences and construct a natural correspondence between derived categories under certain geometric conditions.
