Almost sure growth rates of extremes for dynamical systems: Part II

October 12, 2015
1:00 pm    PHG 646

Abstract

This talk is a continuation of the previous talk on the subject, where the i.i.d case was discussed. This talk will build upon the i.i.d theory, and establish results on almost sure growth rates of extremes (maxima) for dynamical systems. We will focus on simple examples, and state the key assumptions a dynamical system must satisfy in order to establish such rates. We then consider the range of examples that can be covered by the theory, with possible generalizations.
