An Unfolding Theory Approach to Bursting in Fast-Slow Systems

Martin Golubitsky, Kresimir Josic and Tasso J. Kaper

We approach the classification of bursting behavior in fast-slow systems by collapsing the bifurcation leading to the bursts into a singularity. The bursters are then classified by the type of singularity in whose unfolding they first appear.
