Theory of Functions of a Real Variable II (Math 6321)

Description

This course is a sequel to Math 6320:

Emphasis will be placed on a thorough understanding of the basic concepts of modern analysis as well as developing problem solving skills in applications. Topics covered include: Hilbert spaces; Banach spaces; elements of functional analysis; Fourier series and transforms; and elements of distribution theory.These notions will be examined through examples and applications, especially to probability, ergodic theory and physics.
