Overview:

This course will prepare you for the PhD qualifying examination in topology. We will cover general topology and then move to topics in algebraic topology, including the fundamental group, covering spaces, and homology theories. Topology is intrinsically beautiful, shares deep connections with analysis, and has emerged as a powerful tool in the applied sphere.
