April 24: Final Exam Review Completed
April 22: Test 4 Review Completed. Make sure you do your practice exam and the last quiz before you take your exam. Don't forget Opt Out dates April 30th and May 1st.
April 17: Lesson 24 completed, We have covered all material. Make sure you take the last quizzes and begin studying for your exam.
April 15: Lesson 23 completed,
April 10: Lesson 22 completed, You are know Quiz 11 ready. Quiz 10 closes tonight.
April 8: Lesson 20 completed
April 3: Lesson 19 completed, and partially completed Lesson 20. After today's class you are Quiz 10 ready. Quiz 9 is closing tonight.
April 1: Lesson 18 completed and Popper 14; Today is the last day to do Practice Exam 3.
March 27: Lesson 16 and 17 completed, You are now ready for Quiz 9. Also Quiz 8 will close tonight.
March 25: Review for Test 3, Don't forget that practice test 3 does count as extra credit. Also Quiz 8 closes this week. Wednesday March 26 is the last to drop a class.
March 18: Lesson 15, Extra review for test 3 and popper 12 Sorry but my husband is not doing well. We have finished the material for test 3 so class is cancelled for Thursday. Review is on schedule next Tuesday. The class is ready for Quiz 8 so you can get ahead so get it done now. Remember just because the quiz is not due if the material is done get the quiz done. You are also ready for the practice test 3. You have the review from today to get started on getting ready for exam 3.
March 6: Lesson 14 and popper 11(I will post later) I will get poppers up for 10 and 11. I will also get the slots for homework 12, 13 and 14 loaded this weekend. That homework will be due after spring break but will be available to complete now. On the Tuesday after spring break there will be a review so you can be reminded about the material that was all ready covered. I will post the blank notes for that assignment next week under Class Notes. Please do review the poppers when I post them because you will be seeing them again.
March 4: Lesson 12 completed, Lesson 13 completed and popper 10 (will post later). You are ready for quiz 7 so get it done before you leave for Spring Break. Remember we will be reviewing the Tuesday after Spring Break. I will post notes for that review.
February 27: Lesson 12 partially completed and popper 09. Test average was 86.7 on the test and 8.1 points from the practice test so the score was 94.8. Homework 11 is up and still due March 5.
February 25: Lesson 11 and popper 08 Lesson 11 should be finished today so you are ready for quiz 5, Next week we will be ready for quiz 6 and 7. Please get ahead on quizzes. Half the class has not completed the exam at this time so we talk averages on Thursday
February 20: Lesson 9 completed, Lesson 10 and Popper 07(was bubble all A's). Homework 8 was extended until today. Ready for Quiz 4.
February 18: Review
for test 2 and Popper 06
(Actually 7) Once the exam starts all slots but
the ones for that day disappear. Each evening the slots for the next day will
appear in the evening. Quiz 3 should have been completed. After Thursday you
are ready for Quiz 4.
February 13: Part lesson 9, Extra Review for Test 2 and Popper 05. Really study the problems for this review and the regression. I'm still working on the review for next Tuesday.
February 11: Lesson 8, HW 4 and 5 help and Popper 04. Ready for Quiz 3. Be sure and get your slot for test 2.
February 6: Lesson 6 completed, Lesson 7 completed and popper 03. Scheduler is opening up tonight at 12:01AM (right after midnight for test 2. Be sure that you complete your reservation now. Look under the proctored exam tab on the CASA website. Quiz 2 goes down Saturday and you are ready for quiz 3. Do not delay on this quiz just because it is not due. Next week you will be ready for Quiz 4 and this is your chance to get ahead. Saturday I will open both homework assignments 6 and 7 since we have completed the material. Make sure the answers go in the correct homework assignment.
February 3: Lesson 5, Extra Homework 3 help, Lesson 6 partial and Popper 02. If you are new to CASA be sure and get your finger prints completed. This is a onetime event and you should have them completed prior to test 2. It is very inconsiderate to expect the proctors to hand this the day of the exam. Hours are on the CASA website under Proctor Exam tab. Ready for quiz 2 today and quiz 3 by Friday. I know these are not due but do not delay it will help you keep current in the class.
January 30: Lesson 3 completed, Lesson 4 completed and Popper 01. Homework 2 has been extended through tomorrow. Homework 3 until next week. Homework 4 is ready for you to complete on time. We are no longer behind on course material. Those of you have problems entering material into GGB, either need to come to my office hours which are right before class in CASA tutoring or after most classes I have about 20 minutes. There are also videos under Course information.
January 28: According to the University website classes are cancelled today.
January 23: Lesson 2 completed and Lesson 3 partial. Look at January 21. Get all those items completed so we can proceed with the course.
January 21: Lesson 2. Homework due dates are up and the calendar has dates. Ready for quiz means we have the material on that quiz completed so work on that quiz. It will help keep you up-to-date. Just because a quiz is not due does not mean it can wait. Get 100 on Course Policy Quiz, Practice Test 1, Test 1 and homework 1.
January 16: Lesson 1 completed and Lesson 2 started. I will get the homework due dates posted and add them to the calendar. Be sure and read January 14 announcements.
January 14: Lesson 1 so far First item to complete is the Course Policy Quiz. The quiz is on the CASA website www.casa.uh.edu then look under the Online Assignments Tab. A copy of Course Polices is under Course Information tab on my website www.math.uh.edu/~dgross (the symbol in front of my name is a tilda; it is below the escape key). You will not be able to look at Practice Test 1 and Test 1 until you have a 100 on the Course Policy Quiz. This Course Policy needs to be completed by Thursday so you get going on the course material.
These are the items that need to be finished the first week of class:
Complete these items this first week:
1. Register with CASA. You can do this online at www.casa.uh.edu ; you choose your ID and password if you are new to the CASA website
2. Complete the Course Policy Quiz on the CASA website under the tab Online Assignments. You must score a 100. You will not be able to complete quizzes or register for tests without completing this assignment.
3. Take Practice Test 1. This is under a Tab in the CASA website. The tab name is online assignments, be sure not to take the Test 1 by mistake. Once you have practiced (practice test has 20 attempts) enough then take test 1. You have 2 attempts and do not try to copy the exam. It will waste one of your attempts. So study and take each attempt like you mean it.
4. Purchase the Access Code for the CASA website and have it ready for January 26, 2014 at 11:59 PM. Yes you must have this code.
5. Popper forms will be needed by January 28, 2014 the forms are sold in the Bookstore in a packet. You must know your section number and course.

Find the book, online calculator and Geogebra. These are tools we will be using all semester. Under online assignments find the practice test 1 and the course policy quiz. Information about Course Polices is under the Course Information link on this page. You need a 100 on this quiz ASAP. Take the practice test one to see what you know.
